Cracker Barrel Charlotte Pike Looks to Coming Changes
I stopped by Cracker Barrel on Charlotte Pike in Nashville at 6:00 P.M. on Aug. 24 to see what changes have taken place and find out what they know about the upcoming “rebranding.” It was nice to see both the interstate billboard and the signage on the restaurant have not changed. However, the parking lot was noticeably empty, even though it was dinner time. Only one older couple drove up and entered the building while I was outside taking pictures
Inside, I discovered that nothing has changed yet except the menu and some of the paper products.
The porch is still lined with rocking chairs and a couple of cracker barrels, the store still has an eclectic mix of tools and memorabilia hanging from the rafters, and the dining room still has collectible signs and what-not hanging on the walls. According to reports from people who have visited “rebranded” stores, most of the Americana and country feel has been removed from the updated old country stores.
The small staff was busy seating the couple who walked in ahead of me, so I called back a bit later to talk to a young woman who told me Cracker Barrel is on a two-year plan to change out all the signs, logos and decor. All the signage and decor are expected to be updated to the new minimalist look during that time frame.
The young woman told me that while the look of the menus has changed, that the core menu has not changed although it has obviously been trimmed down from the previous larger menus.
The Charlotte Pike location has no idea when corporate will change out its signs and furnishings, only that it will happen in the next two years.
The latest reports say that the woman in charge of these decision pulls in $1,000,000 a year and has alienated workers by slashing working hours and reducing food quality, according to Daily Mail.
The young woman at the Charlotte Pike location told me that anyone with comments can call corporate at 615-444-5533.
