The first issue of Christian Activities Nashville with David Mullen on the cover Christian Activities Magazine Celebrates 30th Anniversary What did people do for the latest Christian concert news for Nashville before the internet?  In 1992, Nashville entrepreneur Kathryn Darden launched a new publication for Nashville’s Christian music scene. While several major denominations had publications for their churches that listed events going on at churches in their denominations, there was nothing in circulation meant to cross denominational lines to let people know about the variety of Christian music events going on in Music City.  Working at historic Koinonia Coffeehouse on Music Row at the time, Darden was already printing a handout for customers with local Christian concerts on it. A few thoughts on school shootings from a former teacher The Parkland, Florida, school shooting follows too quickly on the heels of other recent school shootings. As a teacher for many years you can imagine that I take school shootings close to heart. They break my heart as I can picture precious little faces I have loved and taught sitting in seats, feeling safe in their familiar school setting. Christian Activities Magazine is 25 years old! I am both pleased and humbled to announce that Christian Activities is celebrating our 25th anniversary this month!  It was 25 years ago in October of 1992 that I first had the vision of putting together a Christian calendar that would cross denominational boundaries in Middle Tennessee. This has been a labor of love that I have always worked other jobs to support.  It has been a tremendous sacrifice at times but always so rewarding.   Christian Activities Publications Page on Facebook 500 fans is considered a first milestone for a business page on Facebook. The Christian Activities Publications page has 440 fans. Now the arts and entertainment website is back up and bigger and better than ever. I have been watching my life flash before my eyes the past few days. It started a couple of weeks ago when I was unexpectedly given one week's notice that my Christian Activities website was going to have to be moved within a week. For a year I had been told it was going to be moved to Word Press, but suddenly I had to find a new server and web designer. Under normal circumstances, this would have been the death knell to Christian Activities happening at this time, because my own circumstances are not normal right now. I am dealing with the aftermath of massive flood and water damage, recovering from living in a Microtel for 9 months, and putting up with contractors who insist upon needless delays, ridiculous shortcuts and sloppy work. I am also having to pay for many things Farmers Insurance is not covering: mold remediation, rotten wood replacement under my house and other repairs. A couple of thousand dollars worth of vet bills for a sick dog helped push me deeper into a bad ...

Nashville has historically been both a poor and a great place to find live gospel music. On the one hand, it is notoriously difficult to sell tickets to gospel concerts in Nashville, so many great tours pass Music City by entirely in search of greener pastures.
