Lowe's for Gutter and Gutter Screen Installation: A Review

Image
Following both a landslide and a flood on my property, I have been trying to get my home repaired. I have interviewed a ton of contractors, decided to work with several and been terribly disappointed by most. Today I have had a couple of men installing gutter screens and adding gutters to my two bay windows that never had them, trying to get rid of more moisture around the house so it finally has a chance to dry out. I am tired of continually having mold and fungus issues following the Nashville flood. Lowe's: Never Stop Improving! I was able to go through Lowe's to get these contractors and have now used Lowes for home improvement several times. I must say, all the repairmen Lowes has sent out have done a GREAT job. These men arrived on time, did the work professionally, cleaned up, and all payments and scheduling went through Lowe's. If I have a problem, Lowe's backs me up. What could be easier? The only question I have is that both downspots were pla...

Gray's Disposal Company in Nashville, TN Still Billing but Not Paying

Gray's Disposal Company in Nashville, Tenn. -- the company who hauled away my mother's antique cabinet and then promised me for NINE MONTHS "the check is in the mail"--has a "D" rating on the Better Business Bureau. Gee, I wonder why? I turned my complaint in tonight to the BBB. I wonder if that will get them an "F" rating? Edwin Gray of Gray's Disposal Company still has not paid me the rest of the money they owe, even though he once again promised me last week the check was going in the mail by Friday. It is Wednesday, and no check has arrive. However, they did have time to send me a bill... which runs through May 2014... for a service I canceled the end of 2013. I wanted to cancel my "service" last May but I waited to cancel until the end of December, trying to work things out. I thought they would pay me right away like they promised! I thought it would be in my best interest to maintain a working relationship with them unt...

My Review of Gray's Disposal in Nashville on Yelp

Image
PILES OF TRASH:  Gray's Disposal used to be a little less than other garbage pickups, but that is no longer the case as they have raised prices recently. Although I always had erratic service, they hit a new low last holiday season when my trash was not picked up from Thanksgiving until after the New Year leaving piles of garbage at Christmas that my multiple calls could not get hauled away. I had to repackage my trash bags into boxes to try to keep critters out and to make neater piles around my trash can while I called and called to no avail. I had paid a quarter in advance for the service, so there was no excuse for them leaving that trash for so long. Yes, I have photos of the mess they left me with for over 2 months. Interesting to note another Yelp user had the same issues with trash piling up during the holidays. HAULED AN ANTIQUE CABINET AWAY:  Then in May of 2013, they hauled away my mother's antique Electrolized-Electroweld storage cabinet ...

Open Letter to Gray's Disposal Company, Nashville, TN

Photo of a smaller Electrolized-Electroweld cabinet with more rust and wear from online source Gray's Disposal Company PO Box 40491 Nashville, TN 37204-0491 Dear Mr. Gray, In May of 2013, your disposal men removed my mother's antique white metal Electrolized-Electroweld storage cabinet from my premises, even though it was not close to the trash can. I had it sitting next to the sidewalk to my back door while I cleared a space out in my utility room. I immediately called you the day it happened and you confirmed your men had taken it. I asked that it be returned but when I finally reached you again, you said the antique cabinet had been disposed of and could not be recovered. You said you would pay for a new one if I could find one, so I spent several days driving across Middle Tennessee and calling various antique and salvage stores trying to find one. When I suggested it might be quicker and more affordable for you to also help me search, your man Darius said as ...
