 Fall is well underway in 2024 bringing fall colors, falling leaves and a cool breeze after a long, hot summer. The 16th annual Día de los Muertos took place Oct. 24 at Cheekwood Botanical Garden in Belle Meade. The popular Latin American family celebration was filled with activities including live performances, an international marketplace, food trucks with Latin cuisine and interactive art activities for everyone. Translated as “Day of the Dead,” Día de los Muertos is a day-long celebration for Nashville’s Hispanic population as well as for families throughout the area. The colorful festivities included face painting, shopping, watching the Aztec dancers, eating Mexican food at the food trucks, live music, coloring skull masks, interesting dolls , and enjoying the beautiful grounds all decked out for Cheekwood Harvest with flowers, pumpkins and scarecrows. The weather was overcast but nice and crowds of all ages certainly enjoyed the festival.   Sex Sells on 'October Road' Season 2 with Bryan Greenberg, Laura Prepon, Tom Berenger (review) October Road which stars Bryan Greenberg, Laura Prepon, and Tom Berenger, was one of my occasional guilty pleasures a few years ago. I say guilty pleasure because October Road is an amoral show about a small town where the cool kids have grown up and are all in their late 20s. I enjoyed Season One on many levels, but I grew dissatisfied with October Road as the series progressed because in Knights Ridge, all problems can be solved by having sex. I went with a friend to this beautiful fall festival of color at Cheekwood a couple of weeks ago. Full of flowers, pumpkins, and scarecrows in all shapes and sizes, it was well worth the trip. The Leaves of October Today I got to walk with two friends in the beauty of Edwin Warner Park enjoying the colorful display of sunlight on autumn leaves. It was a spectacular view. The weather was mild, two of us took our small dogs, and we enjoyed talking while we exercised by walking 2.5 miles under the trees. I enjoy going to some of these fall festivals in Nashville every year. I love Oktoberfest and the events at Cheekwood as well as some of the music events. 2012 Nashville Fall Festivals A Tennessee autumn is a beautiful sight, especially in Middle Tennessee's wooded areas and hills and East Tennessee's mountains. Fall in Nashville presents a myriad of colors as the leaves change to reds, golds and yellows amidst the green and brown leaves and the orange of pumpkin patches. Trunk-or-Treat delights kids of all ages at Bellevue Church of Christ As reported in Halloween weekend for the kids in Bellevue, TN, Sunday night, Oct. 30 was the night Bellevue Church of Christ hosted their annual Trunk-or-Treat festivities for children of all ages. It was a perfect cool autumn night for the event, and the church parking lot was full as was the Red Caboose parking lot across the street.
