2017 BMI Christian Awards winners  BMI held their annual Christian music awards at the BMI offices in Nashville, TN last night, celebrating the most performed contemporary Christian, inspirational and southern gospel songs of 2016.  The invitation-only awards dinner is an eagerly anticipated event each year and draws from an international assortment of Christian music industry leaders, songwriters, publishers, performers and the media. A cclaimed producer and prolific songwriter Bernie Herms received the BMI Christian Music Songwriter of the Year Award at last night’s BMI Christian Music Awards, the top honor of the night and another victory for Herms who won a GRAMMY® for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song earlier this year. As of today my Skin, Health & Beauty Column is #3 nationally out of 266 Spa & Beauty Examiners, #1 on the list of Top Skin Care Examiners and #4 out of the local Nashville Examiners from all topics. My Skin Care, Rodan + Fields and Gospel Music Columns are all ranking in the Top 5 chart as well. A very special thank you to my readers.

In September, I was honored with the Hot 100 Award for my page views in August. This means out of hundreds of thousands of writers on the Yahoo! Contributor Network, I was one of the top 100 writers. I have been in the top 500 almost every month for the past couple of years, so it felt really good to crack the top 100. Now the pressure is on to keep doing it!

I took this screen shot earlier this month when I hit 1,000,000 page views on Yahoo! Voices.  I have a nice "trophy" to go with it. I started writing for Yahoo in 2008 when it was Associated Content, making $1.50 for every 1,000 page views my articles received. As I wrote more articles, they gradually attracted more viewers. At different levels, I earned a few more cents per page view. At 1,000,000 page views I have now reached the highest level of  pay -- $2.00 per 1,000 page views. Obviously, Yahoo is not going to make me rich, and I have averaged $30 or $40 a month there. However, occasionally an older article will suddenly pull in a bunch of page views and I will have a really good month. August is going to be my best month ever, not because each month my payment rise, but because I had three old articles take off and pull in a bunch of page views.
