Halloween Poem -- A Halloween Acrostic



I have a Halloween poem up on Associate Content that is a different look at the ghosts which haunt us.

It was an October AC challenge to write a Halloween acrostic poem and my personal challenge to write it from a Christian perspective and to avoid the usual reference to witches, vampires and other demonic elements, but keep it somewhat dark.

H aunted by memories 
A nother cold October night 
L onely under the harvest moon 
L ooking at the ghosts of my past 
O nly the undead as my companions 
W e wander the vacant corridors 
E very memory refuses to leave 
E maciated wraiths that won't die 
N eeding my blood for their feast.

I have revised the Halloween poem and will post the revision here. Remember, folks, it was an exercise in writing - not the last gasp of a clinically depressed woman!

Choking on honey: What to do Honey is a thick, viscous fluid which can become trapped in a person's airway. While there are many articles written about using honey to remove obstructions from the throat, there is not much, if anything, written about what to do if someone is choking on honey. I had an experience where I was choking on honey and called the paramedics. I couldn't even speak by the time I had someone on the phone. 'Naked and Afraid XL' and Mean Girl Cliques

I just finished watching the third season of "Naked And Afraid XL." I respect these people for leaving the comfort, safety and security of home to face unknown hardships in remote and inhospitable places. I wouldn't choose to do it, so my comments should be viewed knowing I realize I could not do what these people have done. In addition, I am aware that most of the action and dialogue takes place off camera. All my impressions are compliments of a cameraman and a film editor and the scenes they chose to share. A lot happens that that I am completely unaware of. With these two disclaimers in mind, let's talk about Mean Girl Cliques on "Naked And Afraid XL." Every girl comes up against them in elementary school. They become a force to be reckoned with in junior high and have usually become more sophisticated and somewhat nicer in high school.
