Bellevue’s New Day Church Plans Fall Festival at Red Caboose Park


A FREE fall festival will take place on Sunday night, November 1 at Bellevue Park/Red Caboose Park from 4-6 pm. There will be candy, games, photo ops, and lots of pumpkins and fall scenes to enjoy when New Day Church in Bellevue hosts its 7th annual fall festival. Fun for the whole family!

Bellevue UMC Trunk or Treat on Halloween

Bellevue United Methodist Church is hosting a trunk or treat on Oct. 31–Halloween—from 6-8 PM. Hot cocoa and hotdogs will be provided.

Oktoberfest at Cheekwood


This week, celebrate Oktoberfest at Cheekwood on October 9. Relax and take in the scenery with beer, brats, and Bavarian music by The Oompahsters, who perform traditional Bavarian music including marches, waltzes, polkas, and other dance music. Oktoberfest is part of Cheekwood Harvest going on through Oct. 30. More Cheekwood below.

Oct. 7 Wreck on I40 Backs Up Traffic Past Bellevue




A bad rainy-day wreck on I 40 blocked traffic from the Charlotte pike exit all the way past the Bellevue exit early Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 7,  when an XTRA tractor trailer flipped over on its side right in front of the Charlotte exit.

Petco at Bellevue Place is celebrating the season with Boo at the Petco Zoo on Sat. Oct. 18 from 2-4 PM. 

Cheekwood Harvest 

New this year at Cheekwood, the fall fun continues after dusk at Harvest NIGHTS on Thursdays throughout the festival. A towering Jack-o’-Lantern Topiary, adorned with an estimated 160 faux jack-o’-lanterns will be front and center in the Bradford Robertson Color Garden. Enjoy a spooky Scarecrow Trail complete with perfect photo opportunities next to jack-o’-lanterns, large cauldrons, and magic lanterns. Musical performances, food trucks and seasonal libations complete the perfect fall evening. Cheekwood Harvest runs from September 13 until October 30, 2025.

Halloween Pooch Party at Cheekwood on October 25 & 26 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Bring your pup out for costume contests and snap a pic of your four-legged companion at the Pumpkin Village. Costume contests will be held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day.

Harbor Freight Bellevue Place Misses the Boat


 I had a disturbing experience at Harbor Freight at Bellevue Place this past week. I have walked my small, 4 lb dog Jack on the sidewalk and into a few air conditioned stores of that shopping center all summer long in the evenings, because it has been too hot to go to the park. Read More.
