Cracker Barrel Charlotte Pike Talks Coming Changes

I stopped by Cracker Barrel on Charlotte Pike in Nashville on Aug. 24 to see what changes have taken place and find out what they know about the upcoming “rebranding.” It was nice to see both the interstate billboard and the signage on the restaurant have not changed. In fact, nothing has changed yet except the menu and some of the paper products. Read more


Cheekwood Dog Nights of Summer

Thursday nights in August are going to the dogs as Cheekwood hosts Dog Nights of Summer on August 21 and 28 from 5-9. Adults can bring their pups and tour the grounds for $21. Find out more at Dog Nights of Summer Is Back!

Bell Garden Produce Stand

Bell Garden is open to the public on Saturdays from 10-12 for the purchase of fresh produce from the community garden located at Bellevue Middle School. Founded in 2012, Bell Garden is a hybrid school and community garden located on the Bellevue Middle School Campus in Nashville, TN. 

National Night Out Against Crime


The National Night Out Against Crime fest took place at Red Caboose Park on Tuesday night, Aug. 5. The annual event is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. Its timing also makes it a back-to-school event, according to one of the policemen on hand. 

Vendors from the Bellevue Exchange Club, to the Metro Office of Family Safety, to Target joined police and emergency management organizations and other groups to hand out pizza, swag, school supplies and information to the public. Find out more at National Night Out. 

Free Balloons at Michael’s



Kids are invited to come in to Michael’s Bellevue and get one free helium latex balloon in August while supplies last!

Bellevue Farmers Market

Bellevue’s Farmers Market is held every Thursday night at Red Caboose Park from 4 to 7 PM. Organic produce, crafts, local businesses, music, food and more can be found.

Choking on Honey: What to Do

Choking on honey: What to do Honey is a thick, viscous fluid which can become trapped in a person's airway. While there are many articles written about using honey to remove obstructions from the throat, there is not much, if anything, written about what to do if someone is choking on honey. I had an experience where I was choking on honey and called the paramedics. I couldn't even speak by the time I had someone on the phone. By the time the paramedics arrived, the honey had dissolved enough for me to begin gasping for air.  The main thing is to NOT PANIC and not inhale it deeper while it is thick. Honey will slowly dissolve and thin out.
