I recently had the opportunity to talk to two students online who live in different parts of the Ukraine. They have been posting daily reports and took the time to answer some questions for me. ~ Two Ukrainian students talk about how the Russo-Ukrainian war has affected them ~ The Russo-Ukrainian War began in February 2014 as Russian forces began surrounding the Ukraine. Recently Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was raised by Jewish parents in a Russian-speaking area in southeastern Ukraine, has stated that Russian President Putin had  Russian forces , including nuclear arms, placed on high alert. Today talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations are scheduled to take place on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, causing many around the world to hope this might signal the end of the hostilities. A few thoughts on school shootings from a former teacher The Parkland, Florida, school shooting follows too quickly on the heels of other recent school shootings. As a teacher for many years you can imagine that I take school shootings close to heart. They break my heart as I can picture precious little faces I have loved and taught sitting in seats, feeling safe in their familiar school setting. I think this was much needed. I only wish I had beard about it before it was over! Two-hundred and thirty-two years ago yesterday, on January 16, 1786, the Virginia General Assembly passed the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom state law. Politically-Motivated Charges Filed Against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt in California Related to Planned Parenthood Whistle-Blower Recordings   Late yesterday, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra charged pro-life investigative journalists David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress with 15 felony counts related to secret recordings they made that provided evidence of  Planned Parenthood's participation in the illegal trafficking of aborted baby remains .  Becerra charged Daleiden and Merritt with 14 counts of eavesdropping and 1 count of conspiracy to eavesdrop. Each of the 14 counts is related to conversations Daleiden and Merritt had with Planned Parenthood and its abortion allies in which the profiteers negotiated the sale of fetal body parts in violation of state and federal law. President Donald J. Trump spoke to tens of thousands of supporters gathered   at the Municipal Auditorium  in Nashville  who came to see him in person  last night. However, many of us ended up watching him on YouTube outside the auditorium. We got there at 3:30 and stood in line until almost 7 and the crowds were so HUGE that we never even made it in. The line sported a great many MAGA red, hats and there were vendors with Trump memorabilia everywhere. We had a wonderful time, and the crowd, which wrapped around the State Capitol to Charlotte on both sides and then wound down James Robertson Parkway to the auditorium, was positive and enthusiastic.  We met the nicest couple from Clarksville . Everyone around us enjoyed our wait,  and as I mentioned, we ended up watching President Trump speak on YouTube while we waited outside the auditorium.  The only downside, besides the small smattering of protesters which were like gnats that buzzed ...

Conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly died of cancer September 5, 2016 at her home in St. Louis. A constitutional lawyer, Schlafly was best known for her conservative social and political views, her opposition to the feminist movement, and her successful campaign to stop the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the U.S. Constitution in the 1970s. She is credited by many as the driving force that prevented the ratification of the ERA. Patriots For Economic Freed om - a federal political action committee has no shame. In their efforts to defeat Debbie Wasserman Schultz they resort to a continuous spam technique that has conservative who really don't like Debbie equally offended by Joe Kaufman, the candidate Patriots For Economic Freed om keeps pushing on us. Ignoring multiple requests to be removed from the list, the negative spammy messages keep filling up my inbox -- sometimes twice a day. To make matters worse, most conservatives already know Schultz is a left-wing lacky, but instead of telling us anything substantial about Kaufman, the spammy messages just continue to tell us all the bad things about Debbie. Don't get me wrong -- I no longer want to know ANYTHING about Kaufman after the barrage of spam, but Patriots For Economic Freed om has certainly done NOTHING to earn votes for Kaufman. I thought there were laws about adding people to lists without permission ...

 The Privacy For All Students (PFAS) coalition today announced they have submitted over 620,000 signatures to elections officials to qualify a statewide referendum allowing voters to reject the co-ed bathroom law (AB 1266) that was enacted by the Legislature and signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown. This time the ensuing terrorism is because of an independent film made in the US and posted on the internet that portrays Mohammad as a womanizer. The Muslim response has been to attack U.S. and German embassies, to burn American flags, and to hold violent protests in Libya, Tunisian, Sudan, Yemen and other Islamic countries where people have been killed and wounded. Top Ten Lines from Clint Eastwood's Monologue at the Republican National Convention Actor and director Clint Eastwood did a comedy monologue with a chair during this last night of the Republican National Convention. The chair represented President Obama, and the veteran actor was able to verbalize some of the questions he has had about the Obama administration in front of the RNC crowd. While a couple of the jokes were off color, the creative ad-libbed monologue was clever and pointed. Eastwood began his monologue joking about conservatives in Hollywood which set the stage for the first of his many one-liners and humorous comments.
