Edwin Hawkins of 'Oh Happy Day' Fame Passes Away | Christian Activities

Sad news for gospel music fans... Edwin Hawkins, the four-time Grammy® Award-winning leader of The Edwin Hawkins Singers’ 1969 million-seller, “Oh Happy Day,” died January 15th at his home in the Bay area, after a bout with pancreatic cancer. He was 74 years old. Natalie Grant leaves Grammys early--Tweets cause media frenzy Christian gospel singer Natalie Grant, who was nominated for two Grammy Awards and was initially excited to be at the big event, walked out of the Grammys after witnessing performances that even secular media outlets like E! Online said were occult in nature, such as Katy Perry's witchcraft ceremony and other risqué performances. After she posted that she left early and had some thoughts in her head about the sgow, a large number of liberal websites began to attack the singer for intolerance, for hating gays, for judging one performance and condoning others... it went on and on.
