Macy's Closing Stores and Laying Off Workers Again - Yahoo

Image
I worked for this chain, starting with Castner-Knott Green Hills in the late 1970s as I worked my way through college. I transferred to Castner-Knott in Bellevue Center when that mall was built but had to leave then my mother became terminally ill in 1990. I started working there again when it was Proffits for Christmas and returned again when it was changing over  to Hechts, which in turn became Macy's. I LOVED working for the Nashville-owned-and-operated Castners, but each buyout reduced the quality of the work experience significantly. Eventually the Bellevue Macy's closed during a "reorganization" period.  Now  Macy's is going through another "reorganization" which means more layoffs. Skincare, Health and Aging

http://skinhealthandbeauty.wordpress.com/Skin And Health As someone who has always had sensitive skin and who more recently has battled skin cancer and rosacea , I have been going to dermatologist s for years. Additionally, I sold Avon when I was starting out after college, and more recently, I worked in the cosmetics department at Macy's with lines including Clinique , Estee Lauder , Lancome and Alexandra DeMarkoff (it was the incredible stress of working for a volatile, erratic manager in the Macy's cosmetics department that brought on my rosacea), so I have a modest background and some training in working with cosmetics, creams and various skincare treatments. I have decided to start blogging about and  maybe writing articles about various advances in skincare, health and aging. To be honest, since this is a new endeavor, I am not quite sure what direction it will take, but I have taken the first step by setting up a Twitter account , and will creating a new blog...

In January of 2009, the Department of Labor reported that more than 84,000 unemployment claims were filed last month in Tennessee which is 115% more claims filed than in 2008. Since so many of my friends and neighbors are having to file an unemployment claim in Tennessee, I thought I would list a couple of resources and related articles on Filing for Unemployment in Tennessee. Macy's Bellevue Center Closes Its Doors

Click here if you would like to see more photos from the past 7 years at Bellevue Hecht's/Macy's . The Macy's Bellevue Center in Nashville, Tennessee, closed its doors to the public for the final time today. The Bellevue Center mall originally opened in 1990 with two anchors, Dillard's and Castner-Knott's. At one point in the mall's early history, Macy's had planned to come in, and Macy's signs even appeared inside the mall where the store was supposed to go, but those plans fell through. During the past 18 years, Castner-Knott's, a popular locally-owned-and-operated retail store and chain, was sold to Saks which had acquired local Castner's competitor, Dillard's. Since there was already a Dillard's operating as an anchor store at Bellevue Center (from 1990 to 2007), the Castner's property was sold within a few months to Proffitt's in 1999. Proffitt's lasted a couple of years before it was sold to Hechts. Hecht's owned th...
