Steve Martin & Steep Canyon Rangers from International Bluegrass Music Awards to the Ryman

Recently, I wrote a series of articles on Mayberry's Darling boys, the Dillards, appearing at the International Bluegrass Music Awards and their induction into the hall of fame. That was the highlight of the IBMA Awards for me, but the secondary highlight was seeing comedian Steve Martin perform with the Steep Canyon Rangers. If you have not yet had the opportunity to see Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, they are appearing in concert tonight at the Ryman Auditorium.

Choking on Honey: What to Do

Choking on honey: What to do Honey is a thick, viscous fluid which can become trapped in a person's airway. While there are many articles written about using honey to remove obstructions from the throat, there is not much, if anything, written about what to do if someone is choking on honey. I had an experience where I was choking on honey and called the paramedics. I couldn't even speak by the time I had someone on the phone. By the time the paramedics arrived, the honey had dissolved enough for me to begin gasping for air.  The main thing is to NOT PANIC and not inhale it deeper while it is thick. Honey will slowly dissolve and thin out.
