Kathryn E. Darden Named to Influential Women Directory for Journalism & Publishing



Veteran journalist and publisher Kathryn E. Darden has been officially selected for inclusion in the international Influential Women directory under the Publishing & Journalism category. The platform serves as a global professional network honoring female media founders, executives, and authors whose work shapes industries and leaves a lasting impact across print and digital media.

For Darden, the selection highlights a media career spanning more than three decades and follows hot on the heels of her recent inclusion in the prestigious 2026 edition of Who’s Who of America registry.  

Since founding ChristianActivities.com in 1992, as well as starting a web presence in 1994, she has guided the outlet into one of the longest-running independent Christian news portals on the web. Beyond her flagship publication, her reporting and feature writing have appeared across a broad mix of regional and national outlets, including The Tennessean, The Westview, Barbie Bazaar magazine, and national digital platforms like Yahoo Contributor Network and Examiner.

In addition to managing editorial direction for Christian Activities, Darden maintains an active writing schedule across non-fiction and essay work. She has upcoming pieces placed on hold with The Bible Advocate and The Upper Room, and is currently revising a new edition of her book, How to Publish Your Book on a Shoestring Budget, set for release later this year. She is also completing a historical biography documenting the World War II military career and subsequent security service of her father, Col. Darden.

Choking on Honey: What to Do

Choking on honey: What to do Honey is a thick, viscous fluid which can become trapped in a person's airway. While there are many articles written about using honey to remove obstructions from the throat, there is not much, if anything, written about what to do if someone is choking on honey. I had an experience where I was choking on honey and called the paramedics. I couldn't even speak by the time I had someone on the phone. By the time the paramedics arrived, the honey had dissolved enough for me to begin gasping for air.  The main thing is to NOT PANIC and not inhale it deeper while it is thick. Honey will slowly dissolve and thin out.
